What this part is

The Galaxy S8 charges through a USB-C port on a small board at the bottom of the phone. Years of plugging in, lint and liquid can wear or corrode the port, so charging becomes slow, stops and starts, or triggers a moisture warning.

This board is made for the Galaxy S8 SM-G950F. Try a different cable and charger first, and gently remove lint with a wooden or plastic pick, before replacing the board.

How to check your model

Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read Galaxy S8, not Galaxy S8+ or Galaxy S9. The model number should read SM-G950F.

The Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch screen. The S8+ is larger at 6.2 inches.

Professional installation

How a technician fits this part

Power off the phone and warm the back glass to soften the adhesive.
Lift the back glass and disconnect the battery.
Remove the lower cover and loudspeaker, then unclip the board's connectors.
Fit the new board and reconnect every cable firmly.
Reconnect the battery and test charging and a computer connection.
Refit the parts and back glass with new adhesive.

Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Does it fit the Galaxy S8+?

No. The S8+ (SM-G955F) uses a different charging board.

Will it fix wireless charging?

No. Wireless charging uses a separate coil. This board fixes charging and data through the USB-C port.

Is it made by Samsung?

No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality charging port board made to fit the Galaxy S8, and every part is tested before dispatch.

Should I fit it myself?

We recommend professional installation. The glass back must be heated and lifted, and several cables are unclipped to reach the board.
