What this part is
The USB-C port on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is used every day, so it wears out, collects pocket lint and can be bent by a cable pulled at an angle. When it fails the tablet may charge only at one angle, charge very slowly or not at all, and may stop connecting to a computer.
This part is the complete port board, not only the socket, so no soldering of the port is needed. Before replacing it, try another cable and charger and gently clear lint from the port with a plastic tool. If charging is still unreliable, the port board is the likely fault.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About tablet. The model name should read Galaxy Tab S9 and the model number should be SM-X710. This board is for the Wi-Fi version.
The Galaxy Tab S9 has an 11-inch screen. The Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra are larger. The 5G version has a different model number, so check it before ordering.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the tablet off completely.
- Warm the edges to soften the adhesive and open the tablet carefully with thin tools.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other part.
- Remove the screws and flex cables holding the old port board and lift it out.
- Fit the new board, reconnect the cables and test charging before closing.
- Reseal the tablet with new adhesive and run a final check of charging and data.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

How do I know the port is the problem?
