The Galaxy S26 Ultra earpiece sits in a thin slot above the display. Drops, liquid and dust can damage its small diaphragm, leaving calls faint or crackly while speakerphone still sounds fine.
This earpiece is made for the Galaxy S26 Ultra SM-S948B. On Galaxy S phones it also plays the top channel of stereo audio, so a faulty unit can make videos sound lopsided. Clean the grille gently before ordering, as a blocked mesh can mimic a failed speaker.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model name should read Galaxy S26 Ultra, not Galaxy S26 or Galaxy S26+. The model number should read SM-S948B.
Switch to speakerphone during a call. If that is clear, the earpiece is the likely fault.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power off the phone and warm the back glass to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the back glass and disconnect the battery connector.
- Remove the top cover plate to reach the earpiece.
- Fit the new earpiece and make sure its gasket sits flat.
- Reconnect the battery and test a call and media sound.
- Refit the cover and back glass with new adhesive.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
