The rear camera on the Sony Xperia 1 (also listed as Xperia XZ4) sits behind a small glass cover. If this glass cracks or scratches, photos look hazy, blurred or show light flare, even though the camera itself is fine. Dust and moisture can also get in through the crack.
This part is the glass cover only, not the camera module. If photos stay blurred with the new glass fitted, the camera itself may need replacing.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Warm the old lens cover gently to soften its adhesive.
- Lift out the broken glass with a plastic tool, taking care not to touch the camera below.
- Clean away old adhesive and dust from the opening.
- Remove the backing film and press the new lens cover firmly into place.
- Take a test photo to check it is clear.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
