The SIM card tray on the Sony Xperia Z5 or Z5 Premium (dual SIM versions) holds your SIM card and microSD memory card in the right position against the contacts inside the phone. A bent or cracked tray can stop the phone reading the SIM, and a lost tray lets dust and water in.
This is a simple part that pushes in by hand. If the phone still shows no SIM with a new tray and a known good SIM card, the SIM reader inside the phone may need checking.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model should read Xperia Z5, and the model number should be E6683 or E6883. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
The Xperia Z5 has a 5.2-inch screen and the Z5 Premium a 5.5-inch 4K screen. This tray is listed for both.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Pull the old tray out of the side of the phone with a fingernail (no eject pin is needed).
- Place your two nano-SIM cards, or a SIM and a microSD card, in the new tray, gold contacts facing down.
- Slide the tray back in the right way round until it sits flush.
- Power on and check the phone reads both SIMs.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
