Overview
What this part is
The sensor flex on the iPhone 14 sits at the top of the phone, next to the earpiece speaker. It carries the proximity sensor, which turns the screen off when the phone is at your ear, and the ambient light sensor used for auto-brightness.
When this flex fails, the screen may stay on during calls and your cheek can press buttons or end the call. This part is the sensor flex only. Move your existing earpiece speaker across, or buy a new earpiece separately. Test the sensors before sealing the phone.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power off the iPhone 14, remove the two screws beside the charging port and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the display carefully and disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Remove the bracket over the earpiece and lift out the old sensor flex.
- Move the earpiece speaker across and fit the new sensor flex in its place.
- Reconnect the battery and test a call, the proximity sensor and auto-brightness.
- Refit the bracket and seal the phone with new adhesive.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my iPhone 14?
Yes, if Settings › General › About shows iPhone 14. It is listed for models A2649, A2881, A2882, A2883 and A2884.
Does it fit the iPhone 13?
We list this sensor flex for the iPhone 14 only. The iPhone 13 is a different model, so please choose the part listed for it.
Does this include the earpiece speaker?
No. It is the sensor flex without the speaker. Your existing earpiece speaker is moved across during fitting.
Is it made by Apple?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality sensor flex made to fit the iPhone 14, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The sensor flex sits at the top of the iPhone 14 next to Face ID parts, and it must be aligned correctly for the sensors to work.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders from £5.
