What this part is
The SIM card tray on the Xiaomi Redmi 6A / Redmi 6 slides into the side of the phone and holds your cards in place against the reader contacts. A bent or cracked tray can stop the phone reading the SIM, and a missing tray leaves the slot open to dust and moisture.
The tray holds two SIM cards and a microSD memory card. It comes out with a standard SIM eject pin, so no tools or heat are needed to fit it. The Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 share this tray.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Push a SIM eject pin into the small hole beside the slot to release the old tray, if it is still fitted.
- Place your SIM card (and memory card, if used) in the new tray, gold contacts facing down.
- Slide the tray in straight and level until it sits flush with the frame.
- Power on and check the phone detects the SIM and signal.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
