The rear camera lens cover on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is the protective glass (with its surround) over the rear cameras. When it cracks or gets deeply scratched, photos look hazy, soft or full of flare, and dust and moisture can get in and reach the cameras.
Replacing the cover restores clear photos when the camera modules themselves are undamaged. If the picture is still black, the camera will not focus or the app shows an error, the camera module is at fault instead, and that is a separate part.

- Fit the new lens cover with fresh adhesive and press it down evenly.
- Open the camera app and check each rear camera for clear, sharp photos.
