What this part is
The iPad mini 4 home button is a physical button on a small flex cable behind the front glass. A cracked button, a button that has stopped clicking, or a torn flex means the home button no longer works.
This assembly restores the button press so you can return to the home screen and wake the iPad. Touch ID is paired to each iPad's main board at the factory, so a replacement button cannot read fingerprints. Your passcode still unlocks the iPad.

How to check your model
Open Settings › General › About. The model name should read iPad mini 4. Tap the model number to see the A-number (for example A1538).

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the iPad mini 4 off and warm the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the screen slowly with thin opening picks, avoiding the display cables, and disconnect the battery first.
- Release the old home button flex from the back of the screen and remove the button.
- Fit the new button and flex, and secure the button bracket.
- Reconnect the battery and screen and test the repair before sealing.
- Apply new adhesive, close the iPad and press evenly while it cures.
- Test the home button press. Touch ID will not be available.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
