Overview
What this part is
The USB-C port at the bottom of the Google Pixel 8 Pro carries charging power and USB data. Everyday plugging in, pocket lint and drops wear the contacts, so the cable may feel loose or the phone may only charge at an angle.
This item is the USB-C port connector itself. Compare it with the photos before ordering. Fitting it means opening the phone from the screen side and removing the internal parts around the port, and on some repairs it needs micro-soldering. If the phone still does not charge with a new port and a known good cable, the battery or main board may be at fault.

Is this the right part?
Signs it needs replacing
- The charger only works at a certain angle, or not at all
- The USB-C cable feels loose in the port
- Charging keeps starting and stopping
- The phone is not seen by a computer over USB
- Cleaning the port has not helped
How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Pixel 8 Pro, not Pixel 8. The model code (GC3VE, G1MNW) is shown in Settings › About phone › Regulatory labels and on the box.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch screen and three rear cameras and a temperature sensor. The Pixel 8 is smaller (6.2-inch) and has two rear cameras.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the Pixel 8 Pro off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the screen edges and open the phone carefully from the display side.
- Disconnect the battery before touching any other part.
- Remove the parts covering the bottom of the phone and take out the old USB-C port.
- Fit the new port connector, using micro-soldering where the repair needs it.
- Reassemble, fit new adhesive and test charging and USB data with a known good cable.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my Pixel 8 Pro?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Pixel 8 Pro. It fits models GC3VE, G1MNW.
Does it fit the Pixel 8?
No. The Pixel 8 is smaller (6.2-inch) and has two rear cameras, and it uses a different part. This charging port connector is for the Pixel 8 Pro only.
Will a new port fix slow charging?
It will if the old port is worn or damaged. First try a known good cable and charger, and clean the port gently. If the Pixel 8 Pro still charges slowly with a new port, the battery may be the cause.
Is it made by Google?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality charging port connector made to fit the Google Pixel 8 Pro, and every part is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The Pixel 8 Pro opens from the screen side with heat and adhesive, the battery must be disconnected safely, and fitting the port may need micro-soldering.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm on a working day are dispatched the same day from Manchester by Royal Mail Tracked. Delivery is free on UK orders over £5. You can also collect from our shop at 33 Moulton Street, Manchester M8 8FQ.
