What this part is
On the Huawei P Smart 2021 the power and volume keys press on small switches mounted on a flex cable inside the frame. Drops, pressure and moisture can break a switch or the cable, so a key stops working, works only sometimes or stays pressed.
This is the internal flex cable with the switches, not the outer key caps. It connects to the phone by a plug-in connector. Check the photos to compare it with the part in your phone.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The model should read P smart 2021 and the model number should start PPA-.
The P Smart 2021 has a 6.67-inch screen and four rear cameras in a square module.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the back cover edges and lift it off carefully with a plastic opening tool.
- Remove the screws holding the inner covers, then disconnect the battery before anything else.
- Unplug the button flex cable and carefully peel it away from the frame.
- Fit the new flex cable in the same position and plug in its connector.
- Refit the covers and screws, apply new adhesive and close the phone, pressing evenly.
- Reconnect the battery if needed, power on and test power, volume up and volume down.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
