- Power the phone off, open it and disconnect the battery.
- Remove the main board from the phone.
- Protect nearby parts, then remove the old socket with hot air and clean the pads.
- Solder the new connector in place, checking every pin and the mounting tabs.
- Refit the board, reconnect the battery and test charging and USB data.
- Close the phone and run a final charging check.
