How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Redmi 5. The model number is also shown there. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
The Redmi 5 has a 5.7-inch screen. The Redmi 5 Plus is larger at 5.99 inches, so check the name carefully.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Push a SIM eject pin into the small hole beside the tray until the tray pops out.
- Remove the old tray and place your SIM and microSD cards in the new one, with the gold contacts facing down.
- Slide the tray back in fully, power on and check that the cards are detected.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
