What this part is
The power and volume keys on the Xiaomi Redmi 9 press against small switches on a thin flex cable inside the frame. A drop, liquid or wear can break a switch or the cable, so the buttons stop working or act on their own.
This flex carries the power and volume switches. If the plastic or metal button caps themselves are missing or broken, those are a separate part.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Redmi 9. Tap All specs for the full model name and model number (M2004J19G). Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.

Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the edges of the back cover and lift it off carefully with a thin pick.
- Remove the covers and screws, then disconnect the battery.
- Peel the old flex away from the frame and disconnect it.
- Fit the new flex, lined up under the buttons, and connect it.
- Reconnect the battery and test power, volume up and volume down before closing.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Will this fit my Redmi 9?
Yes, if Settings › About phone shows Redmi 9. It does not fit the Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C, Redmi 9T.
Does it fit the Redmi 9A or 9C?
No. The Redmi 9A and 9C use a different flex, which we list separately. This one is for the Redmi 9.
Will it fix a button cap that has fallen off?
No. This flex holds the switches under the buttons. A missing or broken button cap is a separate part.
Is it made by Xiaomi?
No. It is a brand new, OEM-quality flex cable made to fit the Xiaomi Redmi 9, and it is tested before dispatch.
Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The back cover has to be heated and lifted, the battery must be disconnected, and the flex is thin and easy to tear.
