The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 loudspeaker sits at the bottom of the phone and plays ringtones, alarms, music, video sound and speakerphone. Water, dust or a drop can damage it, which leaves the sound quiet, crackly or completely silent.
Before replacing it, clean the speaker grille gently with a soft dry brush, check the volume settings and restart the phone. If the sound is still missing or distorted, a new loudspeaker module is the usual fix.

How to check your model
Open Settings › About phone. The device name should read Redmi Note 8. Tap All specs for the full model name and number. Compare your old part with the photos before fitting.
The Redmi Note 8, Note 8T and Note 8 Pro are different phones. Make sure the device name matches exactly.
Professional installation
How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off and remove the SIM tray.
- Warm the edges of the back cover and lift it off carefully with a thin pick.
- Remove the screws and the lower cover, then disconnect the battery.
- Lift the old loudspeaker out and seat the new one in the same position.
- Reconnect the battery and test ringtones, music and speakerphone before closing.
- Refit the lower cover and screws, apply new adhesive and press the back cover on evenly.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.

Should I fit it myself?
We recommend professional installation. The back cover has to be lifted, and the battery must be disconnected first.
