What this part is
The SIM card tray on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro slides into the side of the frame and holds your SIM cards. It holds two nano SIM cards, and one position can take a microSD card instead. A bent or cracked tray can stop the phone reading the SIM, jam in the slot or leave a gap in the side of the frame.
Fitting a new tray is simple. Push the SIM tool into the small hole beside the slot to eject the old tray, place your cards in the new one and push it back in until it sits flush.

How a technician fits this part
- Power the phone off.
- Push the SIM tool into the small hole beside the slot to eject the old tray.
- Place your SIM card, or cards, in the new tray with the gold contacts facing down.
- Slide the tray straight in until it sits flush with the frame, then power on and check the SIM is detected.
Check that the part matches the device before fitting it or removing any adhesive backing. Once a part has been fitted, it cannot be returned for a change of mind. Faulty parts are always covered.
